Any experience with Epson UK..? |
|
|
This topic originated from an earlier post which was getting rather
'long' and stems from the experience I had with Epson, briefly-:
Sample..:
My C62 was exchanged the exchanged unit started to go faulty, I was
told by Epson that the remaining warranty could not be transfered to
the replacement printer, when that went faulty I was 'snookered'.
Anyone out there, had dealings with Epson UK Good or Bad it would be
interesting to hear from you. PLEASE NOTE: 'Good or Bad'.

Definately bad. Had a SP915 replaced under warranty by Epson with a refurb
which packed up within 24 hours.
The engineer sent out wasn't even provided with the tools for the job.
I demanded they replace it with a brand new R300 - they sent another refurb.
Finally got a brand new R300 and an extra set of ink for my trouble.

Bad, they have a script "It's your fault" (for using it) you used the wrong
paper, the wrong drivers, the wrong non-Epson ink, you didn't follow the
cartridge replacemet instructions correctly and got an airlock, your PC
port isn't working properly, and we are racking up money hand over fist
with our national rate help line. |

Thanks for the replies to date, at least we are getting the 'goods and
bads' into one place.
Sorry to hear of your experience's, there have been several long drawn
out post's about the C62's that I had and don't wish to create the
same here, you will find these throughout this forum, especially
under " The Woe of Epson
see link-:

Thanks for submitting the post's, it may be fruitful to keep an eye on
them.

I commend the new thread. I'd like to hear about the UK experience with
Epson.
On related comment. Epson UK's website used to be far superior to the
US one and most others in that they allowed people to download the
service manuals. About a year or so ago, they suddenly cut off access
without a password. That was a drag.
I also found other company' web sites from the UK had more interesting
technical advice and downloads than the ones from the US and other
countries.

Sounds like one for the TSA. It's usual for a replacement item's warranty
to run until the end of the original item's warranty. I think anything
else would be contrary to your consumer rights. I'm not a lawyer,
though...

You should still be able to download the manuals. It's never blocked
me from downloading anything.
Epson UK must be one of the worst companies out there for customer
support. They weren't able to provide me with any information about
the products I was interested in, and kept referring me to other people
who were just as clueless. When I asked for print samples, I was told
that they don't have any working printers anywhere in their entire
company. I eventually got a sample sent to me from Epson New Zealand. |

Thanks. my plight has been gone over several times in more post tha
one and like my printer hope to bury it once and for all
I was wondering if any one else had 'Good or Bad experience' wit
Epson UK, through comments made in previous post's
The indications being that they were poorly trained, just like
'bottle swapper', a TV engineer whose capabilities does not excee
that of fixing TV's by changing tubes or valves, when it come to
component he's not a cat in hell's chance of repairing, akin to a
Epson engineer who's knowledge is nothing more than changing in
cartridges perhaps
If a company can not train their engineers to a standard then there i
something dreastically wrong with that company

Yike!
Regarding the manuals, I'm speaking of the service manuals, not the user
manuals.

To be fair the machine that you were dealing with cost about £100, much
more than a couple of hours work and a spare part and you might as well
by a new one.

Think you would be more nearer the mark if you reduced the price by
about 50%, its about warranty and reliability - not the price.
I was hoping to find people with 'Good and Bad Experience' with
Epson UK rather than recycle my specific problems all over again.
Anyone out there had any Good or Bad experience with Epson UK..?

I think you're using the wrong job title. People who do this sort of work
are technicians.
Engineers design things.

Being politically correct of course..... in my book engineer repai
things and a technician someone who know's their job inside out an
don't have to refer to other people for advice..
So we have engineers who design wall paper, or should I say "wh
engineers wallpaper"...? they'er plain ol' designers to me, sorry
ain't too politically correct for you
Slightly 'off topic', since I wanted to hear from people who ha
experience with Epson UK 'Good or Bad'
