You asked for experiences good or bad. Maybe the majority of users have no
experience to report because they're happy with the kit?
I'm on my fourth Epson inkjet, all bought second hand, all run on 3rd party
inks, never had a problem with any of them.
I also have an Epson scanner, and my only contact with Epson UK was to
request an updated driver CD, which arrived about 3 months later.

I had an Epson 600 about six/seven years ago, which I used for two
years, before ditching it when the colour lasers dipped below the £1,000
mark. For what it was it was quite a good printer, I still have it
sitting on top of a wardrobe somewhere. It could probably be
resurrected, but I'm not sure it would last too long as the belt the
drives the head from side to side was starting to wear out. I had it
doing about 500-1000 pages a month, which was excruciatingly slow!
Various remanufactured cartridges that I tried weren't all that
successful and there was too high a tendency for them to leak or bung
up. That didn't affect the printer itself.
That's my only experience with Epson, so I can't comment on any attempts
to contact head office.
The colour laser I replaced it with was a QMS that shared the same
engine as the equivalent Epson machine, but that was by coincidence
rather than intention.
