CanoScan 4200F Problems |
|
|
Work provided me with a CanoScan 4200F and I have problems.
1. It crops the top off anything set to the top (as in front) of the
platen.
I scan photos and the top 5-10mm gets cut off. So I move the photo to
the right or left edge and:
2. Scans using the edges of the scanner are poor. I believe this is a
consequence of small scanner, high-density CCD and cheap optics. The
consequence is made clear when sharpening the photo in my image editor.
The part closest to the center of the scanner gets over sharpened,
while the part furthest away looks okay.
3. What's the deal with not being able to sharpen and descreen in the
Canoscan software? I get an error message when I try this.
4. L-O-N-G waits for it to warm-up.
Does anyone have similar experience? Or is this thing a lemon? |
