Cannot get Nero Show Time working |
|
|
I'd appreciate some help getting the various parts of my OEM package
working properly again please. This is of necessity a bit detailed,
but hope you'll bear with me.
As per my earlier post about version confusion, I've now updated the
'Nero burning' part of my OEM package from 6.6.0.13 to Nero 6.6.0.16.
That gives me Nero Express (and a few other utilities like Nero Disk
Info), and they seem to be working OK. I've made several test DVDs and
viewed them OK in PowerDVD and on my lounge DVD player.
I also installed inCD from the setup file InCD-4.3.20.1.exe, and inCD
also appears to be working OK again. (But from the same source (Nero
FTP Archives) I also downloaded InCD4Reader.exe. Both had dates of 4th
Aug 2005. So what is that second one please? Just an earlier version,
or a separate program? If so, do I need installed?)
As a third part, I also installed Nero Media Player, NMP-1.4.0.35.exe,
and that too is OK.
So far, so good - but now the bad news.
I've now just ran the 4th and presumably final part, NVE-3.1.0.16.exe,
to get me Nero Show Time in particular (and Nero Vision Express which
I want to learn how to use some day). But Show Time is plainly not
working right. It barely plays, and when it does it's jerky, sound
sputtering, dark...awful. Many DVDs, all OK previously in Show Time,
now none will play.
Was that the wrong setup file to run perhaps? It worried me that the
page
http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php
was headed 'Nero 6 Reloaded'. What's that 'Reloaded' all about?
I did try a complete clean out with the Nero General Cleaning Tool,
and re-installed from my original CD that came with my BTC DVD drive.
But something is flakey there, as I get 'Not all files were found;
please reinstall' - ad infinitum. So I'm *now* back to the state
described above.
Any advice on how best to proceed would be much appreciated please.

Used to be called EasyWriteReader:

Nero 6 was first called 'ultra', then 'reloaded'. AFAIK, Ahead site
doesn't have something like a comparison chart. Whatever Ahead tried to
hype is lost on me. Whether it's ultra or reloaded, it's simply Nero 6
to me.

Cant tell you what is wrong with your setup but Nero 6 Reloaded is the
latest upgrade version of Nero 6. Upgrade as in to a newer application as
against update to the latest patch.
