Hi

I've plugged a compaq ultra 160 16gb drive to my aha-2490uw using a
80->68 adaptor. Win xp pro detects the disc and sets it to g: ,but
cannot format it.

Using seagates' Discwizard tool, i've managed to partition the drive as
fat32 with no problems. However, ntfs partitioning doesn't work, no
matter which cluster size i use. Windows regards the disc as not
formatted (and of course it's unable to format it).

any ideas?

regards

Is this an OEM Compaq drive or is it a Seagate drive?[/quote]
What model is it?

Hi

This was the way to make it: format as fat32, then on a dos window:

convert G: /FS NTFS

It's a second hand compaq drive, know little about it and about scsi in
general, btw.

regards
