I have a Microtek Artixscann 1100 that I was running on my Win2K box.
It stopped working a few months ago, right about the time I got my new
digital slr, and I didn't bother to get it fixed. Now I'm shooting
film again and want to get it running once more. The first problem I
have is that I can't get the scanner to be seen by the computer. I
hate to plead ignorance, but I know less than nothing about scsi and
what to do here. Can anyone help me get the scanner "recognized"? I'd
really appreciate it.

I don't have enough information to give you a good idea of what your[/quote]
problem might be. What were the circumstances under which it "stopped
working"? For example, had you installed some other software? Does the
SCSI card show up in your list of devices? Does the scanner show up as a
SCSI device during boot-up?

If the answers to these questions are puzzling, it may be a good idea to
find someone in your area that can come over and troubleshoot this for
you. The cost should be reasonable, and can save you a a lot of time.

Regards,

Neil
