I'm a newbie where scanners are concerned. I'm looking to buy a
flatbed scanner for under $150, just so I can scan old photos for
archival purposes--that's all (I usually don't use scanner otherwise).
So what I'm looking for is an inexpensive entry-level scanner which can
handle (and if needed, fix) really old photos.

This week, a local store has a special deal on the following 3
scanners, all around $100.

They are:
1. Epson Perfection 3490
2. HP Scanjet 4370
3. Canon Canoscan 4200F

I've looked at the technical specs, and they are about the same. So, a
recommendation/horror story on 1 or more of the above scanners will be
appreciated. :-)

Hi

Any of them would do. However, I would recomend epson 3490 *and*
vuescan, a third party software able to get the most out of the epsons
and finally, an imaging application.

regards
