Easy CD Creator That Creates Covers? |

Hi,
When I upgraded to XP, I noticed that I had to get a new version of
Easy CD creator, but I have the lite version that doesn't make covers.
I would like to know if the plain one they call just Version 7 for CD
and DVD's will make good covers, or if I have to buy the Platinum
version
for that. I want high quality covers with images on both sides, as
well as font capability.

This does not answer my question and doesn't help because when
I have the wav files created in the project file for burning the CD, it
also serves as the track listing on the cover. I want a program that
does both.

Jewel Case Creator (Label Creator) has a long history of bugs. For
example:

I am using Easy CD version 5 with Windoz XP.
When I try to print jewel case inserts the program only prints
either the cut lines and outlines for the insert OR the insert
graphic without the outline or the cut lines! Needless to say
this makes it a bit tough to figure out where to cut the darn
things if you are using one with a light background, in fact
its impossible!

I lost my old Easy CD a fair while ago and was disgusted at the way
other programs handled cover printing and often complete lack of track
lists etc. I did some searching around and found a prog called
Accoustica label maker. It creates covers and labels for discs and
allows the reading of the tracklist directly from the cd, just as easy
cd used to do. It's a bargain price, somewhere around £15 and they
allow you to download a fair lump of extra cover illustrations etc for
free.. I found it a bit awkward finding the page for paying direct by
card on their website but once you find it the whole thing is a breeze
and you can download and use the thing for a month before you register
to see if you like or not.. so give it a try and see what you think

Thanks, I guess I may have to try that. I also found Nero didn't do a
good job at it.
The old Easy CD Creator was a jewell, but doesn't work with Windows XP.
I have
it on an old machine and would even consider upgrading a machine just
to use
it as a burning station.

XP had a lot of trouble with easy cd, I think something to do with its
built in burner being a roxio program? I was stuck for ages for
something that would just read the contents of the cd for me, this one
does the trick. Check the settings before you print a sample cover or
anything out as it has a stretch setting that adds a couple of
millimetres to the size of covers for some strange reason and it is
set to stretch as default. Otherwise it seems a fine little thing and
you can choose just how much you wish to print, from just a cd label
to the whole thing.

I've been a registered user for Years.
Feurio/Feurio CD Manager/Project Menu/Print Covers/Feurio Cover Editor
you *may* need to actually have a project/highlighted if the 'Print
Cover' function is grayed (never has been for me though), but I don't
know this specifically as I have plenty of projects in the Project
Window already to select from, and am unwilling to delete them all to
check this point specifically...<g> You can easily just create one if
you wish, probably even without any ripped tracks to list, so you might
toy with the Cover Editor module function to determine suitability for
your use.

Agreed that it looks like a good program but upon using it I get the
error message:
No activated CD writer could be found.
In five years of burning I've never had this error message, and I
realize
it could be minor. Doesn't seem to want to fix itself. It shows the
device list, I select my burner and it doesn't work properly. I did
just have a bad finalization of a burn so I should probably reboot
my machine.
Tell you what else I find.

Well, Easy CD Creator Plus works great so the error in reading my
CD Burner was due to Fuerio.
I would love to get my original question answered: what version of Easy
CD
do I need to have to use the pre XP versions cover making capabilities.
I'm grateful that there is a program like Fuerio out there that people
can
get to work by tweaking (or maybe on some systems without it). The
idea of there not being good CD creating software out there for the
whole production is extremely disempowering. (much like the philosophy
of Microsoft's software, which gets less and less customer empowering
with each new release.

All i can say is good luck. i never understand why I am using
something happily one minute and next thing it's dead or crippled and
I'm either being asked for a fortune for a new version or simply
unable to cure the problem
