New to SCSI

I have an older PII 400 MHZ which only runs the Veritas backup
software. This is the computers only task and has been performing
satisfactory. The Autopak 110 tape backup device connected to an
Adaptec SCSI card malfunctioned and I sent it off with an RMA. I
unplugged the SCSI cord from the back of the computer and put a
terminator on the pins. Now the backup server which is running Windows
2000 server will not boot up. It is stuck in an endless reboot loop
that starts at POST and goes until the W2K spash screen then loops.

The boot up screen dispays the following:

SCSI ID 6 Yamaha CRW AHA-2940 (assume it is SCSI on an ADAPTEC)

SCSI ID 2 Seagate ST9173LW (no information dispays after this)
The system then reboots.

Any help is appreciated.

Why?
