One of my Mylex 170's started giving "checksum" errors, but it would go away
after reboot via ctrl-alt-del, but I did notice that I would have to setup
the controller options after this. No big deal since it happened only once
every 10 boots or so over the last 6 months.

Now, this has developed into a more serious errer, since the controller
hangs during boot when trying to verify the RAID.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be? The checksum error is spooky -
could this be a firmware problem? Would re-flasing the Bios and firmware
help. Any ideas or suggestions very much appreciated.
