I am running windows 2000 with Adaptec 2940 UW controller.
I can run either one of the following drive alone but not together :-

Fujitsu MAG3091LP
Quantum Viking II

Fujitsu is ID 0 as boot drive whereas Quantum Viking II is ID 3 for data.
How should I properly terminate this setup ?
What is the use of Force single-end jumper and Terminal Power jumper on
these drives ?

Do I need to buy some active scsi terminators for proper set-up ?
Thanks for any input.

Dennis

Install the jumper for force single-end (your adapter works only in SE), the drive is an LVD drive that can be used for SE, and it does not have built in termination.
The other drive has built-in termination, enable it and place it at the end of the cable. Enable auto termination on the adapter. The term power jumper provides power from the drive, rather from the bus, for termination. It should work either way.

You don't need to do that but it can't hurt either.
But since the drive works when connected alone, it isn't the problem.

Right, but that is automatic by sensing the diffsens line. Force SE jumpering is only
needed when the automatic scheme fails or if one wants an LVD bus forced into SE-mode.
